Plastic Free July

Plastic Free July

Caring for the environment is just as important as caring for ourselves at Harvest. Our products are minimally packaged to reduce our environmental impact on our customers. All of our packaging is recyclable and/or biodegradable.

We are proudly part of plastic free Moseley and Kings Heath who are one of over 800 Plastic Free Communities in the UK. Plastic Free Communities is a campaign set up by the national charity, Surfers Against Sewage, to empower people to take action against plastic pollution in their own neighbourhood.

If you're looking for some simple swaps to make this July then we've put together a few tips to find out how you can help to reduce your plastic consumption:

  • Swap liquid soap in single-use plastic containers for bars of soap. We have a range of soaps that can help you eliminate purchasing different products in single-use plastic:

Charcoal Soap is a great facial cleanser.

Green Clay + Bergamot Shave Bar, conditions and nourishes your skin whilst allowing a razor to smoothly glide over it. Green Clay tones and exfoliates the skin, whilst Bergamot offers anti-inflammatory properties and soothes sensitive skin.
  • Products such as reusable face pads are much more planet friendly whilst also being a lot kinder on your skin, rather than single use wipes to remove make-up. You could also try using a natural deodorant bar. Our Himalayan Salt Bar is made from pure Himalayan salt crystal which is a much more gentle and effective deodorant bar.

  • Get a Harvest bag for life! Our organic cotton tote bag is strong, durable and just rather nice.

  • Swap to products with long life containers such as glass over single-use plastic bottles - Shampoo, Conditioner, Hand Wash and Hand Balm. You can then reuse those bottles for other products and refill them, such as for washing up liquid!

  • Bring any old containers of ours back to the shop and we can fully recycle it for you and you'll receive £1 off an order in store with us each time you bring something back.

  • We have a range of other products in store such as metal soap tins, net carrier bags and more, which all act as great ideas for plastic alternatives.
