Hand-dyeing with Katie

Hand-dyeing with Katie

With the summer drawing to an end and the motions of autumn beginning, the shop begins to change too. During the summer time it often feels a little quieter around the shop for us, especially as many of the Harvest team are mum's, so routines are changed. The approach of autumn brings with it a little buzz and a new energy, as we've regathered with fresh minds and begin our new routines again for the season.

September is Katie's favourite month. With the arrival of autumn, the embracing of the Harvest season and then our Harvest birthday which celebrates our time here in our brick and mortar shop in Kings Heath - there's a lot to love about the month!

For our birthday we have a lovely collaboration coming up with Katie's good friend Angela from the Botany Shop, so we begun with hand-dyeing some fabrics to go alongside this. With it being a quiet day in the shop and a rainy, grey day outside, it felt rather appropriate to spend the day inside and being creative.

The day quickly went from dyeing one thing to another thing, and by the end of the day the shop was full (and I mean full) of endless beautiful hanging dyed fabrics, garments and accessories. At the end of the month we will be sharing with you all our creations from these past few days, so make sure you keep an eye on whats coming up!
